Harness the Power of Silence

About a year ago, I had a sudden realization:

My life was composed of nothing but noise...

Channels, apps, podcasts, music, scrolling, work scrolling, chores, scrolling—somehow in the cacophony of the world, I had lost the ability to really listen and with it, the ability to truly create and hear my innermost voice of wisdom speak.

I was actually afraid of silence. I was afraid that if I was quiet for a little too long, an ocean of unmet grief, anger and confusion might overtake me. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't create and life seemed like one long dull and confusing journey.

I knew that this pattern couldn’t continue and that at some point I had to finally meet what was beneath the noise. And so, one morning I courageously set my timer for 10 minutes and decided to sit in a dark room and just greet what was behind the noise—no meditating, no praying, no doing anything. I allowed the dam to break and out poured all my worries, spinning thoughts, and with it, a golden nugget—the first few phrases of a poem. After my 10 minutes were over, I stumbled over myself to get my notebook. At last, I caught a glimpse of my creative self. She was hiding in the silence, waiting for me to listen.

And so this went on and I began increasing my time to 15, 20, 30 minutes and miraculous things began happening. I discovered that beneath the frenetic chaos of my mind, was a wellspring of insight, beauty and creativity.

I had discovered the power of silence.

A Community Experience

Wild Quiet is a gathering where folks from all walks of life get to converge and meet the silence together.

The goal of this silence is to make ourselves more receptive to our own deepest wisdom. Think of it like a dimmer switch on a light bulb: When you “turn up the silence,” so to speak, you increase the potential of connecting with the clarity within.

Our sessions are 1-hour long and begin with a short introduction, a 30 minutes of facilitated silence and then another 30 minutes of community sharing where we speak about our experiences if we feel called.

This is a non-denominational experience in which the emphasis is placed on each individual person’s journey versus any belief or technique. Sometimes people come into this space with a meditation or prayer practice but others often simply sit and observe their surroundings or close their eyes and relax. This hour is entirely whatever you’d like it to be.

This is a container of kindness and acceptance where you are allowed to show up precisely as you are.

This Gathering is For You If:
